Ronald R. Haynes

Ronald Ray Haynes, 68, of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Ron was born December 23, 1947 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Ray and Betty Haynes.  The happiest day of his life was when he married his beautiful bride, Sarah Lenore in February 1979.  Ron was a man of many trades.  He worked several years for the Union Pacific Railroad until he went on disability for complications with a heart illness.  Ron bought and sold cars for a hobby, and taught conceal and carry classes, as he was an advocate for gun safety.  He was very compassionate and giving, and offered to help anyone in need.  Ron was a jokester who loved to laugh and reminisce about stories with anyone who was around.  He had his own lingo and nicknames for everyone and everything.

Ron’s greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren.  He always had candy and bags of goodies for everyone.  He was a bargain hunter and loved to share his treasured finds with people.  His hobbies included visiting with friends, gun shopping and collecting, spending time with his grandchildren, and treating the love of his life out to dinner.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Ray Haynes; son, Joe Packwood; and granddaughter, Sabrina Haynes.  Those who remain to mourn him include his beloved wife, Sarah, of the home; his mother, Betty Haynes of Chillicothe; sister, Marsha Olenhouse and her husband, Butch, of Chillicothe; five children: Amy Higgins and her husband, Stephen, of Nashville, TN, Sheila Packwood of Wheaton, MO, Greg Packwood and his wife, Tresa, of Wheaton, Joyce Stuhlsatz and her husband, Ted, of Oak Grove, MO, and Bobby Haynes and his wife, June, of Grain Valley, MO; eight grandchildren: Lisa and her husband Joey, Dale, Codie, Jackie and her husband Troy, Angie and her husband SeHan, LeAnn, Elizabeth, and Alex; eight great-grandchildren: Brandon, Briena, Wade, Fynnlyn, Lexi, Cole, Tori, and Spencer; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will sadly miss him.
