LeeOra “Harlean” Hipsher

 

LeeOra “Harlean” Hipsher, 79, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Monday, May 1, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, followed by Funeral Services at 7:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Marceline, MO. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Oakland United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 482, Buckner, MO  64016.

 

She was born in Rothville, MO on August 5, 1937 to Harley and Eulah (Floray) Shoop.  Harlean graduated from Keytesville High School in1955 and married Frank Hipsher in 1956.  She was employed by the Blue Springs School District for 28 years as a bus driver.

 

Harlean was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was an animal lover but had a particular love of horses and mules which she raised, trained and showed her entire life.  Harlean won the Missouri State Fair twice with a mule that she raised and trained.

 

Harlean is survived by her husband Frank of the home and her 4 children; Diane Leap, Indep. MO; Ramona Lewis, Grain Valley, MO; Darren and Sharon Hipsher,  Indep. MO, and Darryl and Dana Hipsher, Oak Grove, MO; 6 grandchildren, Megan, Patrick, Braden, Erika, Kiera, and Jake.

 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Eulah Shoop, brother Warren Shoop and son-in-law Tom Leap.
