Samuel M. Underwood, 86, of Oak Grove, MO passed away December 28, 2011. Visitation will be 1-2 pm Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral Service to follow at 2 pm. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association.
Samuel was born March 14, 1925 in Safe, MO to Samuel E. & Thelma (Wools) Underwood. He was in the Army Air Corp. in WWII in CBI Theater. Samuel was a member of the Grain Valley Christian Church and the Blue Springs Legion. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and doing auto bodywork.
Samuel was preceded in death by his wife: Viola in 2010; 2 sisters; grandson: Benjamin Underwood.
Samuel is survived by 2 sons: Larry Underwood of Oak Grove, MO, Rodney Underwood & wife Patti of Oak Grove, MO; 3 daughters: Analeen Underwood of Oak Grove, MO, Donette Thomas & husband Ron of Oak Grove, MO, Marilyn Russell & husband Gary of Blue Springs, MO; 3 grandchildren: Jason Russell & wife Annie, Luke Underwood, Jamie Russell; 1 brother: Leland Underwood of St. James, MO.
