Nancy F. Strahan, 73, of Bates City, MO passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at the Research Medical Center- Kansas City, MO. Services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Royer Funeral Home- Oak Grove, MO. Burial in the Bates City Cemetery, Bates City, MO. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. preceding the service at the funeral home.
Nancy was born October 3, 1936 in Independence, MO to A. Byron and Martha E. (Hamm) Hedeen. On January 7, 1955 she married the love of her life: Joseph D. Strahan Jr. She was a very creative individual with a passion for crafting, knitting, sewing and quilting. Nancy also loved to read and was a member of the Bates City Restoration Branch Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Byron Hedeen and Martha Bruce; one son: Donald R. Strahan; one sister: Janet M. Day.
Her survivors include her husband of 55 years: Joseph D. Strahan Jr. of the home; two sons: Ronald J. Strahan and David B. Strahan; three daughters: Connie F. Smith and her husband Ken, Bonnie K, Strahan-Bontz, and Jodie A. McIntyre and her husband Lloyd; 2 brothers: Larry Hedeen and Robin Bruce; 3 sisters: Carol Bronson, Ellen Adams, and Linda Friend; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
