Clifford Lee Williams, 85, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at the Golden Living Center, Independence, MO. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, Missouri. Burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends preceding the service form 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Clifford was born April 25, 1925 in Oak Grove, Missouri to Homer and Grace (Woody) Williams. He married Alma L. (Moore) Williams on January 30, 1946. Cliff was a sailor in the US Navy from 1943 to May of 1946 abroad the USS Niblack. He could talk about his adventures in the Navy for hours. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, loved the farm life and watching over his crops and cattle. He and his wife were Lay Witness Missionaries for over 20 years withing a five state region.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Grace Williams; and his wife Alma Williams.
His survivors include two daughters: Jan Stapleton and husband Charlie of Oak Grove, MO and Sharon Merwin of Texas; two brothers: Wayne Williams of Harrisonville, MO and Richard Williams of Blue Springs, MO; 2 brother-in-laws: JW Moore of Blue Springs, MO and SE Moore of Kingsville, MO; 5 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; plus a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
