William D. McCoy


William “Bill” Doyne McCoy, 80, of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2010. Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Oak Grove, 400 Southeast 14th Street, Oak Grove, MO. Burial in Corn Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Oak Grove Booster Club.

Bill was born May 28, 1930 in Kansas City, MO to William M. and Opal Marie (Dunham) McCoy. On July 24, 1955 Bill married the love of his life Nancy (Corn) McCoy. He proudly served our country in the USMC, was a member of the Oak Grove School Board, a member of the Frist Baptist Church of Oak Grove, and a member of the Oak Grove Masonic Lodge. IN his younger years, Bill was a Boy Scout Leader, and a coach of many little league sports. He loved spending time golfing, shooting pool, and time with his family down at the Lake of the Ozarks.

He was preceded in death by his parents: William M. and Opal McCoy.

His survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years: Nancy McCoy of the home; two sons: Scott McCoy and wife Kathy of Springfield, MO, Andy McCoy and wife Michelle of Republic, MO; two daughters: Jana Kennard and husband Kurt of Warsaw, MO and Julie Frame and husband Steve of Gladstone, MO; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
