Laura Elvena Murdock, 82, of Independence, MO, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Centerpoint Medical Center. A Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 6th at the Living Waters Church, 211 S. Osage, Buckner, MO 64016.
Laura was born in Estacada, Oregon on December 25, 1927 to Orion Virgil Coop and Hedvig Eugenia (Virginia) Coop and moved to Missouri in 1946. She married Robert Murdock in 1947 and resided in Independence. She has four children, Kenneth Murdock of Overland Park, KS, Linda Young of Independence, MO, Patricia Wildes of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Shirley Baldwin (deceased). She has two sisters, Melva Lanigan of Independence, MO and Anna Castile of Eagle Creek, OR and two brothers, Alvin Coop and Gailand Coop of Independence. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
