Rosalee Houston, 82, of Buckner, MO, passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 surrounded by her family at the home of nephew and niece, Jeff & Marilyn Hamilton, in Blue Springs, MO. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Buckner Hill Cemetery, Buckner, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Omega Health Care, 3171 NE Carnegie Dr. Lee’s Summit, MO 64064.
Rosalee was born on August 18, 1930 in Buckner, MO, the daughter of the late Alva & Rosa (Hamilton) Milligan. She married her love, Frank Houston, on November 6, 1949 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1997. Rosie was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Bill Houston in 1982, two sisters and four brothers.
Rosie was a hairdresser and a homemaker, having owned her own shop in Buckner for many years. She was a member of the Six-Mile Baptist Church in Buckner. She loved her husband, her son, her dogs, and enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and playing the guitar.
Her survivors include several nephews & nieces, two grandchildren: Nathan & Wife Erin Houston of Blue Springs, MO and Jennifer & husband Scott Leslie of Baltimore, MD; four great-grandchildren and her brother Clayton Milligan.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.
