Darrell Elmer Jones, 74, of Bates City, MO passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012 at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc. or a charity of the donors choice.

Darrell was born February 19, 1938 in Lovell, WY to John B. & Laura F. (Davis) Jones and grew up in Deer Lodge, MT. He was a rancher and diesel mechanic by trade. Darrell served in the U.S. Army. Darrell loved the mountains and gardening. He had a great personality and sense of humor. He was preceded in death by his best friend and companion: Irene Smith; daughter Billie Jones; brother: Gayland Jones. Darrell is survived by 1 son: Steven Jones of Battle Mountain, NV; 2 daughters: Cindra Jones of Woodland Park, CO, Vickie Harvey (Jerry) of Newalla, OK; 1 sister: Phyllis Leckwold of Butte, MT; stepchildren: daughter: Stephanie Rodgers (Doug) of Warrensburg, MO; sons: Ted Hayward Jr. (Susan) of Rapid City, SD, Cary Hayward (Shannon) of Lake Lotawana, MO; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
