James “Woody” Kilgore, 75, of Bates City, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 7, 2012 at St. Mary’s Manor, Blue Springs, MO. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 10th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Harvesters.

James was born November 4, 1936 in Jasper, Arkansas, the son of Warren and Ruth Faye (Raney) Kilgore. He was a member of the U.S. Air Force. James was an electronic repairman for Armco. He loved to cook and was a master barbecuer. He enjoyed gardening, working on & spending time on computers, watching TV, and talking on the phone to family & friends. He loved all animals, especially dogs.

His survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wanda Kilgore of the home; daughter, Chris Pigg & husband Jay, of Berthoud, CO; son, Phillip Kilgore & wife Lynn, of Prairie Village, KS; brother, Don Kilgore of Harrison, AR; two sisters: Karen Johnson of Berryville, AR, & Loretta Whaley; and two grandchildren.
