John “Johnny” Robert Oldberg,62, of Independence, MO, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2020. Services will be held at a later date.
Johnny was born January 22, 1958 in Kansas City, MO to John E. & Pearl (Miller) Oldberg. He moved with his family to Lee’s Summit, MO in 1962 and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1977. Johnny enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and being on the lake were some of his favorite things to do. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs and shared many wonderful memories watching games with his children and going to junior dragster races with his son. Johnny also liked racing Mustang’s and Motocross himself. He was an experienced, well trained auto body repair specialist and mechanic who retired from Cable Dahmer Chevrolet in Independence, MO in 2012. Johnny was adventurous, fun loving, and a bit of a dare devil. He was an avid animal lover, having a variety of pets throughout his life. Johnny was a good hardworking man who loved his family and he was taken too soon and will be greatly missed.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, John & Pearl Oldberg.
He is survived by his sisters, Marilyn Cooper of Lee’s Summit, MO, and Joanne Neville of Raytown, MO; daughter, Angela Oldberg; sons, Sean Oldberg and Brent Oldberg; and grandson, Brandon.
