Betty Jean Jenkins, 70, life long resident of Oak Grove, Missouri passed away Monday, September 6, 2010. Services will be held 2:00 p.m.; Friday, September 10th, 2010 at the Royer Funeral Home-Oak Grove, Missouri. Burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery-Oak Grove, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. preceding the service at the funeral home.
Betty was born June 22, 1940 in Dover, Missouri to John David and Myra (Settle) Hayes. On February 14, 1956 she married the love of her life Dean C. Jenkins. She worked for Harmon Electronics 28 years before retiring in 2001 and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Oak Grove, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Myra Hayes; one son: Randy Jenkins in 1957; one sister: Virginia Arth and one brother: Joe Hayes.
Her survivors include her husband of 54 years: Dean Jenkins of the home; two sons: Ron Jenkins of Lee’s Summit, MO and Tom Jenkins and wife Deborah of Holden, MO; one daughter: Jennifer Sprous and husband Dewayne of Blue Springs, MO; two brothers: John Hayes of Higginsville, MO and Leroy Hayes of Laurie, MO; seven grandchildren: Matthew, Emily, Mac, Jack, John, Darick, and Taylor; many nieces, nephews and other family members.
