
Dawn Lee (Winans) Dringenberg, 75, of Independence, MO passed away April 3, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be 5:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home; Independence, MO. Funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at New Salem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation 7800 Foster Overland Park, KS 66204.
Dawn was born September 9, 1947 in Boone, IA to Arthur P & Alice W. (Allen) Winans. She married Kenneth J. Dringenberg on June 22, 1985. Dawn was very proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also proud of her teaching job and tasks she did at Sunshine Center. Dawn was very proficient in sign language and enjoyed teaching it to her students at the Sunshine Center. She loved playing the piano. Despite her long struggle with Parkinson’s, she was a very giving person who always put others before herself. Dawn passed on her love for God and Jesus to her family.
Dawn was preceded in death by her brothers: Arthur Paul Winans, Jr, Philip Winans and her parents.
Dawn is survived by her husband Kenneth James Dringenberg of the home; children: Tiffany Jarnagin & husband Ken of Independence, MO, Tommye Willey of Independence, MO, Craig Ardner, II of Blue Springs, MO, Josie Ardner of Blue Springs, MO; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Leta VunCannon & husband Carl of Independence, MO, Melba McDowell of Independence, MO; sister-in-law: Gwen Winans of Lee’s Summit, MO.
