Sylvia Marie Story, 85, of Grain Valley, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 20, 2020. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25th in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.

Sylvia was born July 22, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of William P. and Mary E. (Tudor) Lawrence. She was a registered nurse for 30+ years. Sylvia was an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. She was a 4H leader for the Grain Valley 4H Club for many years. She was a member of the Parkview Community of Christ Church in Blue Springs, the Red Hat Society, and the Owls Club (Old Widows Ladies Society).
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; brother, David Lawrence; her husband, Austin E. Story; and 2 grandchildren: Amanda Claxon and Christopher Heath.
Her survivors include 6 children: Venita Heath (Doug) of Oak Grove, MO, Joyce Rodier (Joe) of Blue Springs, MO, Eugene Story (Mary Jane) of Gallatin, MO, Janice Story of Grain Valley, MO, Allen Story (Carla) of Blue Springs, MO, and Alvin Story (Karen) of Grain Valley, MO; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and sister, Gloria Hewitt of San Diego, CA.
