Robert Michael “Mike” Spurgeon, 70, of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024 a.m. at St. John LaLande Church 805 NW RD Mize Rd. ~ Blue Springs, MO. 64015. Service and Mass to follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church.
Mike was born December 22, 1953 in Kansas City, Missouri to Frank and Ollivene (Rau) Spurgeon. He worked in food management for 40 years. Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, deer hunting and going fishing. He enjoyed watching KU sports and the Kansas City Chiefs. Mike loved watching his grandchildren dance, play in the orchestra and sing in recitals. He also enjoyed attending their outdoor sport activities, football, basketball and track.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Charles, Frank, and Phillip Spurgeon.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Glenda who resides at the home. Two daughters; Jennifer Hopson of Independence and Stephanie Spurgeon of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, McKenzie Becker, Mikylah Blackmon, Zen Hopson, Steele and Stylz Blackmon; great grandchildren, Alex and Ace Becker, Malai and Mori’Yonna Harrison-Blackmon; brothers, David (Theresa) Spurgeon of Shawnee, Kansas; Daniel (Suzanne) Spurgeon, Paul Spurgeon all of Raytown, Missouri; and his favorite sister, Sandra (Dan) Emily of Independence.

Life is just raindrop of time in a vast ocean and we all need to keep loving and supporting each other and live our best lives while we still can!
