Robert E. Fredenberg Jr.


Robert “Rob” Edward Fredenberg, Jr., aged 61, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2024, after a yearlong battle of cancer. Born on December 21, 1962, he was the youngest son of the late Alice and Bob Fredenberg. Rob’s life was a reflection of his deep faith and commitment to his family and community.

Rob attended William Chrisman High School, Graceland College, Central Missouri State University, and the Kansas City Art Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Illustration.  He worked for Innerspace Storage for 28 years and part time for the Kansas City Royals for 9 years.

A long-standing member of The Gathering Baptist Church, Rob’s commitment to his faith was evident in all aspects of his life.  He used his art skills in service to his church community.  An Eagle Scout, he continued to serve Scouting as an adult leader and enjoyed mentoring the youth. Rob had a passion for others, was charismatic, and embodied a servant’s heart in all aspects of his life.

Rob is survived by his devoted wife, Heather, and his loving sons, Mason (and his wife Maddie) and Preston, granddaughters, Luella and Mabel, brothers Ed (Johanna) and Ken (Nancy).  He will be greatly missed by them along with a large group of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Gathering Baptist Church on Noland Road on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 3:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rob’s name to https://austinroberts.org/, supporting a cause dear to his heart.
