Barbara A. Martin

In Loving Memory of Barbara Ann Martin
December 31, 1946 – February 18, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Martin on February 18, 2024, at the Independence Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Missouri. Born on the last day of 1946, Barb, as she was affectionately known, was a spirited and vibrant soul whose warmth and kindness touched many.

Barbara was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond and Ruth Rahe, whose legacy of resilience she carried with her throughout her life. She now rejoins them, along with her beloved husband, Jimmy Lee Martin, in eternal peace.

Barb’s memory will forever be cherished by her children: Marty Martin, Shelia Farmer, Jena Farmer (Chris Farmer), and Kevin Martin. Her spirit lives on through her grandchildren: Stacey Dell (Dillard Dell), Teresa Martin, Zack Brown, Brittany Tinder (Desmond Tinder), Brandi Carter (Levi Carter), Brooke Hamilton (Chris Hamilton), Nicholas Martin (Taylor Martin), and Chelsey Martin. Barb was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life.

Barb was known for her spunky and vivacious personality, a true “pistol” and “fistea” in every sense. Her love for music filled her home with melodies, while her passion for gardening brought beauty to the world through her cherished rose garden. Many will remember the countless hours spent in deep conversation on her front porch, where she shared laughter and love.

As we say goodbye to Barbara Ann Martin, we also celebrate her remarkable life—a life full of love, laughter, and the beauty of simple pleasures. Barb’s legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be dearly missed, but her spirit will remain with us, guiding and comforting us in the days to come.

Barb’s journey on this earth may have ended, but her light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved. Rest in peace, dear Barbara. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
