Charles Ray “Chas” Mullins Jr., passed away on March 12, 2024 at his home in Kansas City, MO.
Chas was born February 12, 1962 in Los Angeles, CA to Charles Ray Mullins Sr. and Gwendolyn Jayne (Price) Mullins. As a young man, Chas was very active in high school activities where he was a member of the show choir and a barbershop quartet. He also ran track and graduated from Fort Osage High School in 1980 with his name on several track records. Chas attended college at Central Missouri State University (CMSU) where he was on the Diving team until that program ended, and he was a yell leader on the CMSU cheer squad when the Mules won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship in 1984. Chas also continued his singing with the CMSU Troupe choir. During his time attending college in Warrenburg, he opened a bar called “Pictures.” He graduated from CMSU in 1985 and began his life in the business world of finance. Chas then spent the next thirty-nine years project managing IT financial end-to-end solutions for such companies as Earnst & Young, Deloitte, IBM, PWC, Sprint and multiple other global corporations. In his spare time, he continued to enjoy singing, golf, laughing and just generally being around friends. His personality was larger than life.
Chas was preceded in life by all of his grandparents, his mother Gwendolyn Jayne Price, father Charles Ray Mullins Sr., and brother Curtis Alan Mullins.
Chas is survived by his step mother/mom Gennie Erisman, sister Angie Crawford of Blue Springs MO, sister Jennifer (David) Brown of Buckner, MO, and brother Casey (Maria) Wright of Valencia, CA. Along with lots of nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be held 1 PM on April 6, 2024 at the Buckner Community of Christ Church located at 1001 S Sibley Street, Buckner, MO.
