Pat was born on August 13,1950 in Carbondale Illinois. Her grade school years were done in Wood River Illinois. As a young teen the family moved to Jerseyville Illinois, and she was a 1968 graduate of Jerseyville County High School. Pat was a determined youngster already knowing her heart and mind! Growing up as one of Jehovah’s witnesses, she at 8 years of age had decided to dedicate her life to her creator and follow in the Lord Jesus footsteps and example. She submitted herself to water baptism in 1958 at the international convention being held in New York City, NY. For Patricia, this was a wonderful beginning in her life as a Christian. Her association with family and friends led her to meet the one who would become her husband and partner in life for over 53 years. Jesse R. Harbison and Patricia A. Bush became married on August 15, 1970. This young couple associated with fellow witnesses in Wood River Ill., Jefferson City Mo., Warrensburg Mo. along with the Red Bridge and Country Club congregations in Kansas City Mo. For many years Pat and Jesse ran a family operated janitorial service while raising two boys. These now adult sons’ names are Jeffrey and Jason Harbison. During later married life Pat worked part time in the food service industry. She was employed by Central Mo. State University, Target Company, University of Mo. KC. and lastly Shawnee School District from which she retired. Her accomplishments were many as a loving wife mother and life partner. Pat could do whatever she put her mind to do! She loved gardening, travel, architecture, music and through much study and research, became a very qualified genealogist. Pat enjoyed collecting American Indian pottery as well as handcrafted wood cuts, particularly of “old” barns. She had “her own” set of hand tools and knew how to use them. Pat played the flute in school and during many witness conventions. This very capable wife was a good cook as well.
Pat was preceded in death by both sides of her grandparents, Loyd and Daisy Bush and Adolph and Myrtle Eicher. Both of Pat’s parents preceded her in death. Her parents’ names are William Gerald (Bill) Bush and Margaret Jane Bush (Eicher). Pat had one of her sister’s precede her in death, this being her middle sister Bernice Jane (Bush) Slover. Pats sister-in-law Heather Slover (Mikes wife) preceded her in death. Lastly one of Pats infant nephews, Bejamin Darr preceded his aunt (Patty) Pat as well as his grandparents in death.
Pat is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jesse R. Harbison (Kansas City). Two adult sons survive their mother.
