Garold Dohn Ford, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on June 6, 2024. Dohn was born to Lloyd and Norma Ford on February 19, 1945 in West Plains, Missouri. His childhood years were shared with his siblings, David and Bonnie, creating warm family memories and appreciating life’s simple pleasures.
In 1966, Dohn married Cynthia Culter in a ceremony that remains a cherished memory. Together, they built a life filled with the everyday joys of raising their three children: Michelle, Michael and Marcus.
Dohn’s legacy is also carried on by his grandchildren: Spencer, Katie, Ethan, Ian, Nate, Remington and Sofie; along with great-grandchildren Ava and Eden. They will remember him for the special man he was.
Dohn’s life was defined by hard work. He spent much of his professional career in the field of manufacturing and fabrication. Dohn’s free time was dedicated to building the family home on “the farm.” He always had a home repair project or yardwork to keep him busy.
An avid outdoorsman, Dohn loved spending time in nature, especially his beloved Rocky Mountains. His hobbies included fishing, camping in the RV and time in the woods with his sons. If you could get him to slow down, he loved cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and old Western movies.
Predeceased by his parents and his sister, Dohn’s memory is honored and kept alive by his loving wife of 58 years and his cherished family. He will be deeply missed.
A memorial service to celebrate Dohn’s life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 7:00 PM at the Bucker Restoration Branch – 2607 N Twyman Rd. Independence, MO 64058.
