Jacquelyn B. Sims


Jacquelyn Boswell Sims, “Jackie” passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Highland Park Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.

Jackie was born on April 16, 1925 to William and Emma Boswell in Ralston, Oklahoma. She was a singer, poet, writer and loved to play her piano and guitar. She was a bookkeeper for a truck line in California for 35 years.

She had a great sense of humor and was a strong, independent woman. She was a great seamstress and longtime fan of the Dodgers and later the Kansas City Chiefs.

She loved looking for and collecting rocks, the beach and traveling. She loved the times she could be with her family and cherished all of the dogs she had throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 6 sisters and 1 brother and daughters Pamela Koonce and Konnie Collier.

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer Buchanan (Frank, Chad, Becky, Andrea), and Debra Leonard; 5 grandchildren Shawn Steward (Chris), Kimberly Marsch (Jeremy), Summer Flack (Jeff), Sage Leonard, Nicole Howe (Robbie); 9 great – grandchildren, Zoey, Noah, Cailan, Jarrett, Parker, Dylan, Naia, Ridge, Bear; 3 great- great grandchildren; LeeAnn, Abigail, Timothy.
