Linda Yeager

Linda (Momberg) Yeager entered heaven peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2024.  She was preceded into heaven by her loving husband, Gaylen Yeager, and their daughter Lyn (Yeager) Lunceford.

Linda is survived by a son, Bret Yeager, a granddaughter, Ella (Lunceford) Goans and husband Pete Goans and their four children, Austin Pearce, Emily Goans, Lyla Goans and Matthew Goans.  A niece, Kristi (Miller) Powell and husband Steve Powell, and their two children, Michael Powell and Jeanne Powell.

She was born in Sedalia, Missouri, Oct. 13, 1939, to Louis and Louise (Langdon) Momberg.  She had one sister, Sandy (Momberg) Miller, who also preceded her into heaven.

Linda graduated from Central Missouri State University in 1962 and became a schoolteacher, where shortly after, Independence Missouri became home to her and Gaylen, and where she retired from many years of service to the education system.

All who knew her knew her silly and quirky love of life.  She always made everyone laugh and was a loving caregiver to all.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  For information regarding memorial plans, please contact Ella Goans, emgoans@gmail.com.

  1. Sorry to learn of the passing of Linda. I am her only surviving first cousin on her mother’s side. Three years older, we both grew up on the opposite sides of the 19th block of East Ninth Street in Sedalia. Larry Lingle, Houston, Texas
