Robert N. Beal

Robert Nelson Beal 74 of Independence MO passed away on Thursday February 20th after a long illness. A memorial service is planned for May 3, 2025, at 2PM at Oak Grove Community of Christ Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Laura to help with his final expenses.

Robert was born April 28, 1950, to Maynard N. Beal and Dorothy E. (Beadnall) Beal. He grew up in Bates City and graduated from the Odessa school district. He married his wife Barbara LaVonne (Heald) Beal at the Bates City RLDS Church in 1974.

Robert was an extremely hard worker and held many bindery positions at Harmony Printing in Liberty. Then when opportunity was presented to him, he knew how to take it and became mail supervisor for the company. He was also a dedicated employee of the Midcontinent Public Library System earning an award for 15 years of service. He continued with that system until retirement in 2023.

Robert was active in his church holding the office of Priest. He regularly placed others ahead of himself often to the detriment of his own health. He embodied very well the concepts of grace, love, and chosen family.

He enjoyed supporting the Special Olympics by participating in the annual Polar Plunges held in the area. Even on an early spring vacation to his beloved Maine, he made time to jump into the frigid Atlantic Ocean on multiple occasions.
Robert was known for being a practical joker and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Beal, and his beloved wife Barbara.

He is survived by his daughter Laura Ruth Beal of Independence, a son Timothy Willis of North Carolina, a brother Kenneth Beal of Bates City, and a sister Carolyn (Beal) Kolb of Virginia.
