Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She earned her GED and went on to receive a CNA degree. Throughout her life, she worked at Armco Steel, Stringers, TMC, and Tension Envelope. Her favorite role was working as a CNA—not only did she love caring for her patients, but she also met some of her dearest lifelong friends through that work.

A lifelong lover of reading and crocheting, Eva found great joy in creating things with her hands. She was a collector of elephants and loved her cats. She was the proud mother of four children and leaves behind a lasting legacy through her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard D. Guffey Jr. and James R. Guffey of Aurora, Missouri; her grandchildren: Ronald Guffey Jr. (Sandy), Stacey Draper (David), Amy Arndorfer (Nick), Jimmy Guffey, Brandon Guffey (Erin), Richard Guffey, Amanda Guffey, Tracy Fenstermaker, and many beloved great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces, Cheryl Kidwell (Dennis) and Susie Gunnels (Bernie), along with countless friends who cherished her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dean Sr. (1975); her daughter, Peggy Ann (1995); her son, Ronald DeWayne Sr. (2006), her two sisters Jewel Alsup (1996) Joan Rice (2004) and Grandson Jason Hammontree (2010)

Eva’s life was marked by quiet strength, a bit of stubbornness, and a spicy personality. Her unwavering love for her family was at the core of who she was. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
