
Cynthia Elain Felix, 71, of Bates City, MO, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2025.
Born September 1, 1953, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lance Brents and Lillian (Hooper) Brents, Cynthia spent her early years in Independence, Missouri. She graduated from Truman High School in 1971, where she met her high school sweetheart, Steven W. Felix, whom she married that same year. Their love story blossomed into a devoted marriage that lasted 54 years.
Cynthia was a long-standing and faithful member of the Church of God PKG in Columbia, Missouri, where she was happiest. Her faith and kindness touched many lives, and she was known for her unwavering generosity and warmth.
Cynthia’s greatest joys were found in the company of her family. She had a deep love for gathering with loved ones, cooking meals that brought everyone to the table, and spending quiet moments quilting with care and creativity. These simple pleasures reflected her nurturing soul and loving presence.
She is preceded in death by her mother, father, and brother Bobby Brents. She is survived by her loving husband, Steven W. Felix and her two sons, Steven W. Felix II (52), and Timothy L. Felix (50,) as well as her six grandchildren: Gabby (22), Hailey (18), Timothy Eli (29), Kaitlynn (27), Aspen (24), and Bennett (19). She also leaves behind five cherished great-grandchildren: Royal (9), Pedro “G.” (7), Ethan (6), Noralie (5), and Aiyana (3).
Cynthia’s legacy lives on through the love she instilled in her family and the memories shared by all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Celebration of Life will take place at The Davis Memorial Center, located at 1901 S Broadway, Oak Grove, Missouri, on Sunday, August 17th at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be served following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Cynthia. This organization provided meaningful support to her throughout her journey. Donations can be made online at impact.lls.org.
