Brenda Joyce Bettis, 70, of Blue Springs, Missouri, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home. A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2017 also at the funeral home.
Brenda was born on July 19, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was the daughter of William “Jack” and Mildred Irene (Hamm) McCarty. She grew up and attended school in Gower, MO where she graduated with honors in 1964.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents. Her survivors include her husband/ high school sweetheart of 52 years, David Bettis of the home; 2 daughters, Tammy Bettis of Blue Springs, MO and Luraina Bettis of Blue Springs, MO; 2 brothers, Jack (Judy) Webber of Oak Grove, MO and Eddie (Shirley) McCarty of Valrico, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Brenda never met a stranger. She loved dancing and going to the casinos and was Elvis’ biggest fan. She always was TCB (taking care of business). She loved animals and always donated to the ASPCA.
Jesus has welcomed her with open arms where she will live in the house of the lord forever. She will be missed dearly.
