
Pamela Jeannine Simmerman, 74, of Kansas City Missouri entered the loving arms of Jesus Thursday, October 9, 2025.
Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO 64058. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. She married young and began her life’s journey alongside her husband, moving to Rhode Island while he was deployed with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After his service, they returned to Independence, Missouri, where they raised their children and built a loving home.
Pamela worked for many years at K-Mart, where she formed cherished, lifelong friendships. Later, she joined her father’s business, King’s Carpet and Tile, where she found great joy in traveling the world on family business trips. Those experiences created treasured memories she carried throughout her life.
She was affectionately known as “MiMi” to her grandchildren, Sarah and Samuel as well as their close friends, who brought her endless pride and joy. She treasured every moment with them.
Pamela will be remembered for her outgoing spirit, boisterous personality and devotion to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Margie King; husband, James F. Simmerman; and son, Jami Simmerman.
Pamela is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Steve) Harris; grandchildren: Sarah and Samuel Harris; sister, Michele (Steve) Fraley; sons: Erick, Andy (Laura), and Wade; and her lifelong friends, Fran and Lila.
