Ronald Edward Davis, age 64, of Blue Springs, MO (formerly of Sedalia, MO & Warsaw, MO), passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, at Kansas University Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
Ron was born on June 12, 1961, in Youngstown, Ohio to Ronald Patrick and Irene (Murcko) Davis. He graduated from Smith Cotton High School in Sedalia, MO in 1979. He then continued his education at Missouri Valley College where he was a proud member of the football team and Sigma NU Fraternity; he and his father made history as the first father/son to pledge a fraternity at the same time.
Much of his professional life was spent in the transportation industry. In recent years, Ron found his professional home with ABF Freight, where he worked for the past four years.
Ron had a deep love for life’s simple joys and the people who filled it. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he could always be found cheering on his beloved Oakland Raiders and The Ohio State Buckeyes — loyal through every season. When he wasn’t watching a game, Ron was happiest outdoors, whether it was in the woods hunting, or out on the water with a fishing rod in hand. The outdoors was where Ron found peace, purpose, and the presence of God. He saw beauty in the quiet stillness of a morning hunt and joy in the cast of a fishing line.
Music was another of Ron’s great passions. He took special pride in his vintage stereo collection and loved nothing more than cranking up his favorite tunes and getting lost in the rhythm.
Ron never met a stranger and could strike up a lively chat with anyone, anywhere. Whether it was a five-minute chat that turned into a lifelong friendship or a simple “hello” that became a deep conversation, he had a rare gift for making everyone feel seen and valued.
Above all, Ron’s heart belonged to his family. He was a devoted father, son, brother, and friend — a true family man whose love knew no bounds. His children were his pride and joy, the greatest reflection of his life’s purpose. He was a steady presence of love, laughter, and support to everyone who knew him. His warmth and larger-than-life personality will be remembered by those fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
Faith was the cornerstone of Ron’s life. He was a man of God in the truest sense — steadfast, humble, and devoted to living out his beliefs every single day. Ron’s trust in God was unwavering, even at life’s end. He lived and loved with conviction, leaving behind not only memories, but a model of faith for his family and friends to follow. A faithful servant, he now rests in the eternal light of the Lord he so dearly loved.
He is survived by his children: Lindsey (Daniel) Starr of Sedalia, MO, Michael (Rachel) Davis of Buford, Georgia, Tyler (Jenna) Davis of Kahoka, MO, Jessica (John) Hire of Sedalia, MO; his grandchildren: Annabelle Starr, Isabelle Starr, Mathias Starr, Gabe Hire, Zaiden Hire; his sister: Debbie (Mitch) Petree of Sedalia, MO; his nieces: Chelsea (Hunter) Petree of Columbia, MO, Cassie Sanders of Warsaw, MO, Christie Petree of Kansas City, MO; his step-mother Mary Ruth Sangster of Belvidere, New Jersey; and several great nieces/nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 13th at 1:00 PM at Cedar Grove Baptist Church located at 31766 Cedar Grove Ave Warsaw, MO 65355 with Pastor Barry Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations were suggested to Cedar Grove Memorial Fund, which provides funding to support vital building repairs and handicap accessibility to elderly in the community area of Warsaw.
