Lorna Mary Bloss, 88, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, MO. Services will be held on Saturday, November 10th at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove, MO, with visitation at 10:00 a.m., funeral at 11:00 a.m., and burial at 3:00 p.m. in Lakeside Cemetery, Sumner, MO.
Lorna was born June 28, 1930, in Scranton, PA, the daughter of Benjamin F. and Alvina (Mieir) Williams. She graduated from CMSU in Warrensburg, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree. She was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the United States Air Force. Lorna married Harold B. Bloss on September 2, 1950. She worked at the Social Security Administration, where she authorized claims. Lorna was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she was an organist and choir director for many years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and the Sweet Adelines singing group. Lorna taught school and loved to teach and play piano as well. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and making quilts.
Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1971; and her brother, Richard Williams.
Her survivors include four sons: Wayne F. Bloss (Sharon), Harold B. Bloss Jr. (Cynthia), Mitchell R. Bloss (Carolyn), and Preston D. Bloss, all of Oak Grove, MO; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
