Da’rrell E. Parks

Da’rrell E. Parks (1/12/65 – 11/25/25), at age 60, passed away at the Alpine Breeze nursing home in Raytown, Missouri (part of metro Kansas City). He was a native of Hannibal, Missouri.

Da’rrell was a very personable, easy-going and quick-witted man which made having a comedic talent an easy fit for him.

From a young, scrawny  boy, he used his ‘gift of gab’ and ‘words over war’ to both entertain and escape difficult entanglements. Everywhere he went, he had an uncanny tendency to get people ‘cracking up’ with laughter!

In his younger adult years, as a rapper and comedian, he acquired the nicknames of “Kango” and “Baby Gangster” and then later “KC Finesse”. He would travel in-and-around the ‘Hannibal circuit” to other towns like: Quincy, Jeff City, Columbia, St. Louis, Bowling Green, Macon, Kingdom City, Mexico, St. Charles and Chillicothe with childhood friend and businessman, J.T. He later moved to Kansas City where he would initially perform rap (teaching his style to his children, nieces and nephews) and eventually his comedy at various venues and events produced by friends and associates of his.

The highlight of his career is when he visited his sister Marjorie in Los Angeles and she connected him to some of the Hollywood comedy clubs, where he performed and still has videos of some of those stage performances on the internet.

Da’rrell was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, and his brother, Jody. He is survived by his siblings including brother, Bob (Sheila); sister, Marjorie; sister, Kathy (Billy); and sister, Tawana (Anthony). He is also survived by several biological and step-children (and their moms) including Kalisha (Carlita); Da’rrell Jr. (Tasha); Melissa, Juan and D’Andre (Maureen); Araya and Rachelle (Audrey); Kierra and Earl (Heather). Furthermore, he is survived by his Aunt Addie and Uncle George; many cousins, nieces, nephews, several grandchildren, many childhood and other devoted friends.

A private memorial ceremony is to be scheduled for next summer (2026).

We appreciate your thoughts, prayers and love.
