Daryl Leon Strain, 75, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, surrounded by his children.
Daryl was born on July 20, 1950, in Orange, Texas, to Loyd Strain and Margaret Kohrs (Ward) He was raised in Columbia, Missouri and later made his home in Blue Springs, Missouri, where he built a life centered around family, friendship, and the people he loved most. Daryl lived a life marked by kindness, dedication to those he loved, and a sense of humor that will be remembered by everyone who knew him. He was the kind of person who made others feel welcome and valued. An exceptional salesman, Daryl spent more than 30 years working in electrical sales. Throughout his career, he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of colleagues and customers alike. He took great pride in his work and in the many friendships he formed along the way. Outside of work, Daryl devoted much of his time to his family. He coached his children in sports and loved being involved in their lives and activities. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors doing yard work and took pride in keeping his home and yard looking its best. A dedicated sports fan, he especially loved cheering on the Missouri Tigers. For the past ten years, Daryl spent many of his summers at the neighborhood pool, where he became known as a familiar and friendly presence. Whether sharing a laugh, striking up a conversation, or simply enjoying the sunshine, he was someone who seemed to be everyone’s friend. Daryl enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, and bringing laughter to those around him. His presence brought comfort, encouragement, and joy to many, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his five children:
Kevin Strain, Scott (Nichole) Strain, Jennifer (Mike) Ireland, Kristen Strain(Tim Horn), and Daniel (Millie) Strain, He also leaves behind fifteen beloved grandchildren: Alyssa, Hannah, Landon, Dylan, Austin, Grayson, Elle, Emery, Weston, Halston, Cole, Bailey, Hunter, Lauren, and Kennedy; and five great-grandchildren: Phillip, Wesley, Asher, Hayes, and Lux. 13 Mar 2026Daryl I am so lucky that I got to meet you. You welcomed myself and my family with open arms. You always had great stories each time I saw you. I learned about the best beverages for pool drinks from you. You are missed and I know you’re watching over your family from above.
