Kody & Aubree Ballard

Aubree Renee Ballard was born on January 27, 2000, in Columbus, Ohio, to Angela McClain and Jonney McClain. She worked as an ophthalmology scribe and brought warmth, creativity, and laughter wherever she went.
She loved crafting, cooking, concerts, collecting vinyl records, swimming with her brother, films, true crime documentaries, Stranger Things, and music by Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and ABBA. She had a gift for making everyone feel seen and loved, always offering a listening ear or comforting shoulder. To her little brother, she was a real-life superhero.
She is survived by her parents, Angela McClain (Brianna Ingels) and Jonney McClain; her brother, Walker McClain; and her nieces and nephews Sydne Brashear, Mason Turner, Mia Finell, Emillio Perdomo, Luna Perdomo, and baby Enzo Ray.

Kody Ray Ballard was born on July 20, 1999, in Independence, Missouri, to Kendall and Rebecca Ballard. He worked as a commercial driver and proudly started his own business, Simply Spiked Fencing, this past year.
Kody was a hard worker, a free spirit, and someone who never met a stranger. He loved motorsports, gaming, golf, darts, practical jokes, coaching Bulldog Football, and cheering for the Steelers, Seahawks, and—after their first Super Bowl victory—the Kansas City Chiefs. He was happiest with a cheeseburger, fries, and music from Montana 300, G – Easy and Sabrina Carpenter, and the people he loved. Kody was the light and life of our family and will be missed more than words can describe.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca Ballard; grandparents Doris Adams and Dwayne Nuttall; and his beloved nephew, Enrique Perdomo.
He is survived by his father, Kendall Ballard; grandparents Paul Ballard and Opal Hill; siblings Amy Turner (Brad), Nick Rice, Ashley Ballard, Cassie Ballard, Kendra Ballard, and Walker McClain; nieces and nephews Sydne Brashear, Mason Turner, Mia Finell, Emillio Perdomo, Luna Perdomo, and baby Enzo Ray; and lifelong best friend Kooper Katowitz.

Kody and Aubree’s story began in first grade before they found each other again in high school. They became sweethearts at just 15 years old, graduated from Blue Springs High School together in 2018, and were married on April 15, 2023.
They were truly inseparable. Family fondly remembers them falling asleep on FaceTime before they could be together in person. Whether they were traveling, gaming, riding motorcycles, getting random tattoos, celebrating holidays, or simply enjoying each other’s company, they found happiness in every moment they shared.
Their greatest gift was the love they gave so freely to others, and even in passing, they continued giving through the gift of organ donation, offering hope and life to many.
Kody and Aubree leave behind their beloved fur babies, Max, Kitty, and Sprite, along with countless family members and friends who will forever cherish their memories. Though their time together was far too short, the love they shared will continue to live on in all who knew them.
