Alpha Lee Comer, 75, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31st at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in New Salem Cemetery, Independence. The family will greet visitors from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Alpha was born on March 17, 1942 in Independence, Missouri, the daughter of Wesley and Reba (Martin) Srader. She worked in the deli at several local grocery stores and was a member of the Slover Park RLDS. Alpha loved singing and going to garage sales. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Alpha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; two brothers: Butch Parker and Charlie Srader; and two sisters: Carol Gilmore and Jan Hodak.
She is survived by one daughter, Pam Harshner (Steve) of Grain Valley MO; two sons: Doug Comer of Buckner, MO, and Matt Comer of Independence; four grandchildren: Nick Greathouse, Justin Levine, Jessica Levine and Jeri Behler; three great-grandchildren: Mason Cady, Isaac Behler and Eliza Behler; two sisters: Shirley Hodges and Thresa Faggan; and two brothers: Walley Srader and Darrell Srader.
