
Edyth Mae DeArmon, 99, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020. Private family burial with Celebration of Life at a later date.
Edyth was born on May 18, 2020, in Ocie, Missouri, the daughter of Maywood and Almeda (Smith) Blanton. She ran and managed Wildwood Resort at Bull Shoals Lake in Arkansas for several years. Edyth and her husband, Sam, then owned and operated a dairy farm for 17 years in Squires, MO. From there, they moved to Chilhowee, MO, and raised beef cattle for several years. She spent her last years in Independence. Edyth last attended Skyline Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. She enjoyed making quilts and dolls, crocheting, oil painting, and singing.
Edyth was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Elizabeth Blanton, who helped raise her; her parents; two brothers; one sister; husband, Sam DeArmon; daughter Orpha Hennrich; and grandson, Gregory Myers.
Her survivors include two daughters: Mable Leckrone and Sharon Young-Rains (Dan); son, Kenneth Young (Ginny); stepson, Michael DeArmon (Wanda); two stepdaughters: Belinda Heath (Joe) and Tammie DeArmon; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
