Chalen Carter Douglas Jr., 85, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Oak Grove Nursing & Rehab. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17th in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Grove, MO.
Chalen was born May 10, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Chalen Carter Sr. and Helen Agnes (Yale) Douglas. He worked on the assembly line at the GM Leeds plant. Chalen was a Baptist, and enjoyed working on cars, playing football, watching sports, and reading westerns.
His survivors include his wife Leslie; stepson Timothy “Timmy” Johnson; five children: Carrie, Bill, Nancy, Karen, and Kelly; five grandchildren: Brandon & Ale Kolb, Jeremy & Sofia Kolb, John & Maria Kolb, Sarah & Kyle Entrop, and Jacob Douglas & Kait Dowling; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
