Wilbur E. Goff


Wilbur Eugene Goff, 77, of Independence, Missouri passed away of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma on August 17, 2017 with his family by his side.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in New Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23rd at the funeral home.

Wilbur was born on October 17, 1939 in Linneus, Missouri, the son of Merlin E. and Mabel L. (Harvey) Goff.  He was a maintenance worker for the Hilltop Town Homes until his retirement.  He loved spending time with his family, watching his favorite western TV shows, and riding around in his pickup truck.

Wilbur leaves behind four sons: Billy Goff, Danny Goff, Steven (Marnie) Goff, and Joe Goff; and three sisters: Mary Burton, Nellie (Jimmy) Doolin, and Cheryl (Larry) Anthony. He was very close to his nieces and nephews: Terry Sullins, Merlin Sullins, Vickey Hamblen, Sherry Couch, Vincent Doolin Brett, and Broke Anthony; great-nieces and nephews: Justin Sullins, Jared, Kyle and Alex Terrell, Brandon Sullins, Jennifer Parks, Andrea Sullins, and Samantha Sullins; and several great-great nieces and nephews; ten grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Robert Goff; and brother-in-law, Larry Burton.
