Doris Jean Myers-Gosnell, 81, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22nd at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence; burial in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Doris was born October 8, 1935 in New Madrid, Missouri, the daughter of John H. and Karrie (Givens) Presson. She was a hard worker her entire life and loved the holidays. She was a great mother who cherished her children and family.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, an infant twin brother, 3 sisters, and her son, Charles Keith Myers.
Her survivors include 3 daughters: Diane Gunn (Mike) of Independence, Sandi Snead (Jerry) of Blue Springs, MO, and Judy Van Horn of Independence; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 5 great great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
