Edwin Miles Hampton, 83, of Lake Tapawingo, Missouri passed away Friday, September 21, 2018. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 4th at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Edwin was born on March 15, 1935 in Overland Park, KS, son of William and Lavere (Phillips) Hampton. He was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was a devout Christian, graduate of Ottawa University, a school teacher for over 25 years and was involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He loved the Chiefs and Royals and was also a fan of KU.
Edwin is survived include his son, Gavin and wife, Delmarie Hampton of Bucyrus, KS; sister, Arlene Smith of Gardner, KS; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 daughters, Randi and Dana; brother-in-law, Jim Smith; and brother and sister-in-law Justin Hampton (Wilma).
