Douglas E. Heller


Douglas Edward Heller, 55, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20th at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home; burial will follow in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO.

Doug was born on December 2, 1962, in Lexington, MO, son of Edward and Joy (Smith) Heller. He was a proud veteran. He loved listening to old country music, woodworking, living in the country, sweet tea, he played the banjo and his family was everything to him.

His survivors include his life partner, Kimberly Burleson, of the home; 6 children, Dane (Tiffanie) Heller of Grain Valley, Reid (Mindy) Heller of Colorado, Noelle (Joe) Herman of Gladstone, MO, Raegan (Nate) Holt of Grain Valley, Dustin (Amanda) Burleson of Prairie Village, KS and Dylan (Shelby) Burleson of Oak Grove; 3 grandchildren, Maeva, Vanna and Witt; 6 siblings; and his parents, Ed and Joy Heller of Odessa.

  2. I was a customer at his Lees Summit store . In the short time we knew each other we took a shine to one another. So very sad … My heart goes out to his family. He always had pictures of his family on his desk. – Greg White

  3. Words cannot describe how I felt about Doug’s sudden passing. He is a good man and a very caring and compassionate person. My heart truly goes out to Kim and all of Doug’s family especially his parents and Children too. I’m sure he is looking down on all his loved ones and smiling too.
