Alfred Grant Hilt, Jr., 95, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Blue Hills Rest Home in Independence, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 5th at Royer Funeral Home, Oak Grove; burial at 3:00 p.m. at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, MO. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Alfred was born August 31, 1921, in Wyandotte County, Kansas, the son of Alfred Grant Sr. and Amphy Tavoila (Rowland) Hilt. He was a machinist for General Motors and Bendix. He enjoyed fixing cars and making things.
Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Alice Mae “Sparkie” (Leighter) Hilt in 2015.
His survivors include two sons: Norman Hilt of Independence, and Larry Hilt of Grain Valley, MO; two daughters: Jody Blonde and Kathleen Wiggins (Junior), both of Oak Grove; sister, Alta Lola Lee of Paola, KS; brother, Robert Hilt of Kansas City; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
