Clara Helen Howell, 87, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018. Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 12th at New Salem Funeral Home, Independence, MO; inurnment in Salem Association Cemetery, Independence. The family will greet friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Clara was born on February 20, 1930, in Musselfork Township, MO, the daughter of Claude Earl and Devida (Washam) Bartholomew. She married Blaine Thomas Howell on November 2, 1946.
Clara is survived by three children: Thomas Frederick, James Ralph, and Denise Yvette; six grandchildren: Karen, Kelly, James, Christina, Travis and Amanda; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Ruth Morrison and Carol Hewlett. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Blaine; two children: Diana Marie and Joseph Paul; one grandchild, Chad; one sister, Mildred Macaluso; and one brother, Robert Bartholomew.
