Oleta Marie (Walden) Keck, 94 ½, of Oak Grove, Missouri, was tiny in stature, but mighty in the eyes of those around her. Born premature at an estimated pound and a half she has been an amazement to everyone her entire life. Being a farmer alongside her husband (Ben) she was always busy accomplishing something. Her cooking could never be duplicated and she was a seamstress who altered and made many of her own clothes. She was a quick-witted farmwife, talkative and she always spoke her mind. She loved babies, animals and the outdoors. Oleta and her husband enjoyed traveling in their trailer and 5th wheel, music, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, games, cards, and conversation.
On January 31, 2016, Oleta joined her family members who have passed before her. Father and mother, Albert and Cleo Walden; brother, Glen Walden; husband, Ben L. Keck; son, (still-born); son, Gary Keck; daughter and son in law, Jane and Robert Houk; granddaughter, Elizabeth Keck; father and mother in law, Ben and Ruth Keck; 8 brother in laws and 3 sister in laws.
She has left behind a sister Marjorie Hinds, 2 sister in laws, Betty Kester and Elizabeth Keck; son Dwain (Judy) Keck; daughter Linda (Ira) Allen; daughter in law, Connie Keck; former daughter in law, RuthAnn Grote; former son in law, Robert Williams; grandchildren, Talena (Mike) Nuckles and Andrea (Dennis) Lawrence {Linda}, Kerra Linstrom and Brian (Kristina) Houk {Jane}, Stacey (Mark) Gates, Shayla Sparks, Dana Sanders, Pat Smith and Troy (Dana) Smith {Gary}; and generations of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and her loving families at JKVE, Meyers Care Center and Oak Grove Nursing and Rehab.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church, Oak Grove. A funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Oak Grove with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery following.
