Gary Ray Leeper, 67, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Visitation will be held on April 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Bates City followed by service at 11:00 a.m.
Gary was born on May 6, 1951 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a lifetime Machinist. In his spare time, Gary loved hunting, fishing, hiking, and family picnic’s at Burr Oaks of Blue Springs, Missouri. Time spent with his loved ones were most cherished. Gary was married to his lifelong sweetheart, “Roberta” Carol “Rodgers” Leeper, on December 22, 1975.
His survivors include his wife, Carol of Oak Grove, Missouri; his three daughters: Michelle Camerlynck (Phillip) of Independence, Missouri, Misty Todd (Mike) of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Sarah Rissler (James) of Oak Grove, Missouri; nine grandchildren: Courtney, Tyler, Mackenzie, Michael, Matthew, Tristen, Isaac, Mercedes, and Elaina; three great-grandchildren: Journey, Jace, and Izzy; three brothers: Dan Heugel (Wanda), Mike Leeper, and Doug Leeper (Cyndi); two sisters: Sandi Kilpatrick (Paul), and Patty McMechan (Calvin); as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Ray Leeper, in 1990; his mother, Emma Marie Heugel Leeper, in 1999; two sisters: Jaketa “Jackie” Robinson in 1993, and Sharon Schenk in 2011; as well as two grandbabies, Caleb Michael Rissler in 2006, and Bella Rose Rissler in 2014.
