Anna Mae Leonard, 78, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 9th at Royer Funeral Home, Grain Valley, MO. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to COPD or American Lung Association.
Anna was born on September 22, 1940 in Parrot, VA daughter of George and Mary Elizabeth (Hamlin) Nester. Her mother died when she was 13 and she raised her siblings. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a caretaker of other people and would help anybody. She especially loved her family to the very end.
She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Alan Nester and Crockett Nester; and 1st husband, Dan Kendall.
Anna is survived by her 4 daughters, Carolyn Makings of Oak Grove, MO, Lana McIntosh (Roger) of Pleasant Hill, MO, Edna DeFreece (Chris) of Kansas City, MO and Jeri Mills (Link) of Grain Valley, MO; 2 sons, Gillis C. Leonard (Marilin) of Moberly, MO and Daniel C. Leonard of Sedalia, MO; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; 2 sisters, Nancy Webb (Donnie) of Maryland and Lana Giacolone of fort Myers, FL; and 2 brothers, Mike Nester (Marion) of Fort Myers, FL and Doug Nester (Charlene) of Gulf Port, MS.
