Marjorie was born to parents, Major James Blair Harris Jr USMC and Reba Elizabeth Johnson on June 13, 1947 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  She grew up as a single child and attended Mount Vernon High School.  Marjorie graduated from Mount Vernon High School and went on to major in English at East Carolina University.  Before graduating, she decided to follow her passion of Art.  She took an internship under the teaching of Master engraver Arnold Prozotti, where she worked and learned under him for many years.  Marjorie married Thomas Shue and had two children together.  Thomas died in 1971 leaving her to raise two small babies.  She eventually opened her own engraving business, doing work for presidents, the bureau of engraving, the FBI, Smithsonian Museum, and hundreds of other places.  She even has a plaque on the moon.

Marjorie enjoyed a full life.  She loved spending time at the beach, eating fresh crabs, making sculptures and working on genealogy.  She has documented work that goes back to 1753.  In her younger days, Marjorie was the dart queen and enjoyed fishing.  One constant was loving her family.  Her hands made many beautiful pieces of art, held loved ones, wiped tears away, sowed seeds that made the best garden vegetables, canned, and cooked the most delicious meals.  Until recently, she was teaching art classes.  Her talent is shown in many of her art pieces her family will continue to cherish and display.
