Frieda Lee McNeal, 82, of Independence, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21st at Royer’s New Salem Funeral Home, Independence. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Frieda was born February 10, 1936, in Tipton, Missouri, the daughter of David Alfred and Nora Jane Birdsong. She enjoyed traveling, flying on airplanes, watching old western movies, and listening to old country music. Most of all, Frieda loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Frieda is survived by her three daughters: Marcia Johann (Pete) of Independence, Lori Klingensmith (Tron) of St. Joseph, MO, and Donita Picerno (Ed) of Independence; fifteen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; brother, William Birdsong (Ruby) of Ash Flat, AR; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald McNeal; one son, Steven McNeal; and several brothers and sisters.
