Opal Lee Morehead, 94, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15th at Mt. Tabor Methodist Church, Odessa; burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Opal was born May 18, 1923, in Bokoshe, Oklahoma, the daughter of Ira and Ruby (Dunn) Gamble. She married Lloyd Morehead on November 12, 1949. Opal worked alongside Lloyd on their farm for many years. She was a homemaker, an avid quilter, and a member of the Assembly of God Church in Odessa. She enjoyed fishing, painting, and especially spending time with her family.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, and four brothers.
Her survivors include two sons: Elvis L. Morehead Jr. (Mary Jane) of Bel Air, MD, and Edward I. Morehead (Kay) of Clinton, MO; daughter, Sandra L. Chadwick (Dennis) of Odessa; six grandchildren: Misty Wallis, Jeremy Morehead, Sarah Bailey, Alicia McKeehan, Kaley Barnes, and Dillon Chadwick; and several great-grandchildren.
