Allen J. Morgan


Allen J. Morgan, 80, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018.  Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1st at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for all of his granddaughters’ college funds.

Allen was born March 24, 1937 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Elmer and Madeline (Faulkenberry) Morgan.  He served in the United States Navy from 1955-1959 and was very proud of his service and the experiences he had.  Allen married Nadine Culbertson on November 21, 1959.  He was a purchasing agent for Pitman Manufacturing and Mark VII.  Allen was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove and loved tractors and gardening.  He especially loved taking care of his family and friends and would do anything to help anyone. 

Allen was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy Morgan.

His survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nadine Morgan of the home; three children: Mike Morgan, Teresa Godemann (Rod), and Kevin Morgan (Michelle), all of Oak Grove; five grandchildren: Morgan of Omaha, NE, Taylor of Lincoln, NE, Melissa of Grain Valley, MO, Kaitlyn of Oak Grove, and Madelynn of Oak Grove; and sister-in-law, CeCe Morgan of Oak Grove.

  1. My friendship with Allen began in November 1955 when we attended the Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Company 678 and sadly ended January 27, 2018. A better friend I never had and most likely shall never have agin, for Allen was one of kind. Rest in peace, old salt until we meet again.
