Leroy H. Morris, 73, of Oak Grove, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Private burial of ashes in Mt. Washington Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s.
Leroy was born September 6, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Elmer A. and Zilphia (Caselman) Morris. He married Neva M. (Gaultney) Scott in April 1979. Leroy worked at the Kansas City Star for many years, retiring in 2007. He enjoyed fishing and working on small engines.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters: Sonja Heath, Peggy Summers, Louise Shinkle, Mary Bragaw, and Betty Harris; and two brothers: Elmer Morris and Dallas Gulley.
His survivors include his wife of 36 years, Neva Morris; three daughters: Jamie Lynn Morris, Lavon Morris, and Rhonda Van Lew; two sons: Timmy Morris and Michael Scott; four sisters: Patty Kioh (Ronnie), Marilyn Morrison (Brad), Theresa Oswald, and Lucille Brown; two brothers: Joe Morris and Bill Morris (Sue); eight grandchildren; and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
