
Nicklas “Nick” O. Savage Jr., 83, of Pattonsburg, Missouri, passed away early on December 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Blue Springs, MO. Nick will be cremated and joined with his wife. No services are scheduled.
Nick was born August 12, 1934 in Pattonsburg, MO, the son of Nicklas O. Savage Sr. and Helen Marie DeLong. He graduated from Pattonsburg High School in 1952. Nick married his high school sweetheart, Donna Mae Severe in 1955. Shortly after, he was drafted into the Army in 1956. Nick was stationed in Germany from 1957 to 1959. After his tour in the Army, Nick and Donna moved to Brookfield, MO. Their daughter Rebecca Lenor Savage was born August 30, 1960, and son Roger Dale Savage was born October 30, 1962.
Nick started his own business “Savage Refrigeration and Electric”, where he was known as an honest, hardworking family man. After he retired, they remained in Brookfield until 2008, when they moved down to Independence, MO, with daughter Rebecca.
Nick enjoyed his time closer to his children: Rebecca Savage of the home and Roger D. Savage and wife Elizabeth Gwen Savage of Grain Valley, MO; four grandchildren: Jared Levi Savage of Grain Valley, Derek Mitchell Savage and wife Aley of Portales, NM, Hailie Nicole Leahy of Kansas City, MO, and Hailey Elizabeth Griffitts of Grain Valley; and two great-grandsons, Nicklas Edward Savage and Hunter Thomas Savage. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, his only sister, and a nephew.
